Great job on an aesthetically pleasing app and an incredibly functional one." - Justin Price "This concept in FluentU is amazing. I have tried so many times to cancel my subscription. They make it impossible. I will get this thing cancelled! They are thieves! How else do you describe it when they keep billing and make it impossible to cancel?

I have already written a review previous to this one, but because this app and the educational content within it is so effective, a second review is more then justified. I am now on my third video of Mandarin and I am starting to notice something unique to this platform compared to other apps that offer Mandarin. FluentU seems to be endless. The videos themselves are very addicting because they are interesting besides being comprehensive in their content. The online dictionary that is connected to all their videos have separate sample sentences attached to each word that’s in the video. You press on a word within the video, a dictionary pops up with the meaning of the word and three sample sentences using that word. I have spent between 4 to 7 hours daily and the more I study the more content appears before me! It just never ends. The actors in the videos are amazing, and there is a lot of humor. For example in the video ‘Going in for a job interview’ the guy who pays the role of manager looks and sounds like a real no-nonsense boss’. It was really entertaining. These videos are divided into several parts and one must complete the homework before the app lets you go from one part to the next. In this way the app ensures that you learn the content. You are forced to study and pass several tests because you want to go to the next part of the video just to see what happens next in the story. Thank you to the team at Fluenz for all the hard work. I can see myself being subscribed for the next 7 years for sure.
  • Creating my own flashcards?

I thought I would be able to make my own flashcards more efficiently with this app, turned out it just a bank of premade, downloadable packs of cards and some video/audio content, all of that you can get for free and get more out of your learning using just classic anki and youtube. 20 buck for it is a rip off.

Dear Sir, (/or ma’am). I was unable to give your app a full 5🏅 Rating. Is there anything “wrong with it?” No. Does it have “production value”? An awful lot of it, “I” would say. Why? The DevTeam. The DevGroup. What DevGroup is this? Just look at the... oh. I could get a /botnet to do “that”, (but I won’t). I have a story... I knew a man. So at this point I could just record “my” story, and everyone would learn. Travel? Trabajo? Para mi, it suck$$! So I learned. To stop worrying. And say those words... Another town another place, Another Truck, another Race. Algún otro conjunto de cicatrices para "presumir" Некоторые другие набор ШРАМов, чтобы "похвастаться" /We.are.the.Road-Crew Don’t forget us... Sincerely, A Friend of Lemmy. P.S: I was not paid to do this. Okay, I paid myself... but that’s about it. (not. Enough) /Starving Artist

I’ve been studying Korean for quite awhile and while I do see progress it’s slow going! I’ve tried multiple apps, Programs, and books and so far this seems to be helping me more than any of them. I’m hopeful that I’ll see a lot more progress with this app!

The best language app I’ve found by far. If I were working for Babel, I’d be feeling nervous.
  • Just okay so far

This app has me conflicted because for the most part I do think it’s is a very good way to learn a language. But some of the execution is just off. The filter options can be slightly confusing. The UI just seems low-end for a service that is paid for monthly. And I’m having issues with taking the quizzes even though I’ve watched the videos before. If I’m paying for the service, I don’t see why I need to watch the video first anyway.
  • Captivating way to learn!

This is the most fun I’ve ever had studying a language! I know I could get places, but unfortunately the price is so high i’ll have to cancel when my two weeks are over.

I love how it is a combination of basic review of grammar, but also includes pop culture videos to practice comprehension.
