    Sigh. As other reviews state, this app just isn’t set up like other similar apps. Let me use an extreme example to complain: Midsomer Murders, which currently has 20 seasons! And I want to watch the most recent season, so every time I want to watch a new episode I have to go into the show and scroll down and down and down and down and over in order to find the season and episode I want. Another simple complaint? There’s no need for the exaggerated largeness of the show blocks when you are scrolling through shows. Because of the scale increase on any show you have selected, you can’t read anything in its vicinity immediately above or below. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy??? Trailer options are pretty awesome though. And so are the show selections.

    If you like British TV Shows and shows produced in or featuring the cultures of the former "Empire" or "colonies" - such as Australia, Canada and India you will adore Acorn TV! I have become addictive and switched my membership from Monthly to Annual to get the savings. I had become bored with Netflix and other US streaming channels and find Acorn to be a breathe of fresh air. As explained here, the APPs for iPhone and iPad are easy to install and watch. Not so, getting the membership to work/stream on my household's Smart TV's. Unfortunately, I'm only a modestly tech-savvy user various devices these days. I had a devil of a time figuring out how to access Acorn on the TV. I could not even figure out how to get the APPLE TV device to work ( a waste of $$'s and very frustrating). Finally, although I LOVE everything Apple, I recently overcame the issue by buying a TV with ROKU built into it. Set up was a piece of cake! I bought a second TCL Roku TV (cost at Best Buy and/or Target was $149-179 depending on size . . . the smaller is a 32" 1080p; the larger is 43" 4K . . . Setting up the Acorn on #2 for some reason required a phone call to Roku to reset my password, but that was no big deal. Apparently this is an issue with Roku TV's sometimes - so you might just expect that. I am into British Mysteries and binge watched Foyles War which had been on PBS back in the early 2000's. Now watching Brokenwood set in New Zealand. Having a wonderful time. Sign me Very Happy!

    Best Television Shows!!!!!!! I could go on and on and I have watched numerous shows!!! the acting is amazing the scenery is beautiful and I haven’t turned on my other TV channels in months I’m obsessed!? there’s more one here than just glancing through so make sure you do the See More link. 10 stars if I could!

    Im not sure why it had all these bad reviews. I’ve had no problems with the app at all and it is easy to navigate. I’m happy I can finally watch my British shows that aren’t on Netflix or Hulu!

    I have been paying for a subscription since December 2018. I subscribe through my AppleTV and they pay Acorn TV every month on time. Yet I can no longer access the service for months now, and the Acorn TV help site says to click the “restore from iTunes purchase” option on the apps homepage. Completely normal, all apps that I subscribe to through iTunes conveniently have this option, it makes sense to have this option. The problem is, IT DOESN’T EXIST ON THE HOMEPAGE OF THE APP. This is such a ridiculous oversight by their team. Suggestion: get a product team who knows what the hell they’re doing and ensure the development team understands that it’s a huge effing problem when your own support pages don’t match the reality of your app. Completely ridiculous. I feel sorry for the devs who have to work on this app... they get blamed for all of the problems that are absolutely things other departments should be owning to make sure the customer experience is a great one. Add to that, not a single one of my emails to their support department (7) were answered. Such a monumental disappointment that despite loving the Acorn TV programming, I will be canceling my subscription and demanding a refund for the last five months.

    I have enjoyed watching the old British shows like Time Team but the new Acorn shows are really good too! I have Acorn on my iMac, iPhone & iPad. I don’t leave home without it!

    Love the shows! Just found out that two of my friends also watch only Acorn. Barely watch Netflix anymore..so dark same with Prime.

    Don’t even try! This is one of the worst apps I have ever tried to use. We stream via Chromecast, and I have had no trouble with other apps. However, most of the time the app won’t work at all with Chromecast. I have to go through a long and annoying resetting sequence with my phone, the TV, and the Chromecast device and even then the app resets only occasionally. When it works, it locks up about half of the time and I have no access to controls like pause or rewind. I was spending up to a half hour just to get a program started. I contacted customer service and was told to access the program through Google Home, but Google Home showed had no indication I was watching anything in Acorn. After many frustrating hours I gave up and stream from the Acorn website. No problems with that process, so far.

    The home indicator stays on while watching video. This makes it almost unusable. Please fix ASAP!
