    Great app that helped me focus on my graduate studies without fighting stress all the time. If you think you don’t have the time, these practices actually help you calm yourself to ultimately use your time more effectively. Anyone should consider trying it.

    The apps main downfall is the constant notifications, literally more than 8 a day THATS ANNOYING! Got so bad that I had to deactivate notifications all together which causes you to miss the important notices like alerts to meditate, your course etc. so defeats the purpose of it and made me use the app less. As for the actual app, it’s okay. What’s free isn’t super great just your basic starter meditation (one 10 day course so after that you have to repeat the same track or pay monthly to unlock the rest of the features). Lots of guided commentary which might be good for very very very beginning meditators but it’s very distracting which I think counters the actual point of meditation in the first place. 95% of the apps features you have to pay for and it’s $12 monthly (that’s a lot compared to other paid meditation apps that offer way more features and are only a one time fee).

    The content and interface are quite good. I recommend making the episodes closer to the actual advertised duration. I believe many users are trying to fit this in to a busy day. All episodes are longer than stated- most by several minutes. I would enjoy the app more if the content matched the format.

    Mediation is great. Apps can help. Headspace is just okay compared to other options. Headspace is the worse when you factor their terrible lack of any customer service.

    This is the best app for mindfulness ever! I recommend doing one meditation a day. It’s awesome because it sends you notifications to remind you to do some mindfulness every day.In short, this app is awesome!
  • Love the app - meditations are very repetitive though

    I love the Headspace app and I’m a big fan of Andy’s soothing voice. I’ve now meditated ~35 days in a row, something I was never able to accomplish through other meditation apps. The design is beautiful and I love the animations. My only feedback is that the courses are very repetitive in terms of the actual structure and guided meditations. While that’s great and I understand it’s helpful to have a similar structure, a 10 min meditation in a course on Happiness and 10 min meditation in a course on Managing Anxiety are about 85% the same except for about 2 min of the session where he talks about the topic. Take deep breaths, close your eyes, feel your room around you, focus on the breath, Andy talks for a min about the topic, bring awareness back to breath, body scan, let go of awareness, bring it back, done. That’s helpful for a very generic meditation, but for these very specific topics, I feel like there should be more techniques used and a bit more difference in what’s asked of the user. I do feel better and relaxed afterwards, but don’t really feel like I’m more prepared to deal with the anxiety. I know I’m more aware of it, which is part of the point, but is that the only point? Again, love the app, just hoping there can be some more added to differentiate and add more value for that topic.

    So Headspace added a new feature for sleep for free, awesome. After developing a habit for using the feature the sleep section is entirely behind a paywall. I guess I’m going back to YouTube for my sleep sounds.

    I have always loved the idea of meditation, and although I had been to many meditation workshops and classes, I was never able to integrate daily meditation to my life. I got bored by doing the same meditations over and over and didn’t know how to progress. Then I discovered headspace. This app made meditation seem so easy, it helped me track my progress, and it gives me enough variety so that I want to meditate more often. Now I look forward to meditating daily, and sometimes I even manage to meditate twice a day thanks to Headspace! I love it!
