    Always had trouble losing that stubborn 5 pounds. My dietician daughter told me that research supported the benefits of journaling/logging daily calories consumed. I tried but gave up each time. It was daunting to track the calories and log the foods I consumed daily. This app is incredible! It has made it easy to know exactly what I need to do daily to lose weight, and I am!!

    It’s an app for weight loss. It works & has a nice layout. If you just want to track calories or maybe for keto it’s good. I carb cycle so I change my protein, fat, carb intake & calories daily. I go by grams & not % and this app isn’t the most helpful for that. Yes, you can pay premium and set goals by grams (which I’ve done) but your daily breakdown still is shown in % and I’m not able to alter my calories outside of what loseit has preprogrammed for me so the % values they give means nothing to me. I also have to update my goals every morning & my goal screen insists on putting an average for the week instead of giving me what I need at a glance for the day. I wish I spent the extra money on MFP so I could pre-set goals for specific days and choose between a gram view or % view. I went by the brief explanation of premium features and expected what they suggested they offered. It’s a nice layout, aesthetically pleasing & has an Apple Watch app but for carb cycling this is a headache. Very disappointed.

    There aren’t many apps as well thought out as this one. I’m only a week in but so far I’m delighted. I have never been a fan of calorie counting. Been a devotee of Joel Fuhrman, Dean Ornish, et. al, who advocate counting nutrients as opposed to calories. But mathematics can’t be denied and this app allows you to easily and accurately assess the calories going in. So, I can follow the Fuhrman regimen and yet avoid the self-delusion that one more avocado or a hand full of cashews won’t hurt. The data is right in front of you constantly. I’ve logged meals in the past in a journal but the process was cumbersome, tedious, and yielded no actual nutritional data. Then, a couple weeks ago, puttering away in my wood shop I heard about “Noom” on VPR. “Yes, of course there’s an app for that,” I thought. Downloaded it, gave it a try, and was very impressed. But the cost for all bells and whistles is $200 and up a year! Gave Lose It a look - better food tracker by far, great nutrient data, ability to sync between iPhone, iPad, and laptop, ability to save recipes, all this in contrast to Noom. Oh, and the pedometer kept freezing the Noom app; this one works perfectly. The free version is fine but $39 a year for the whole shebang is well within the budget. Results? 5lbs in less than a week. No one, other than Joel Fuhrman, would probably judge me as fat. But I feel the extra 20 coming off of Christmas cookies, Triscuits, olive tapenade, cooking with lots of oil, etc. So, here’s a tool that gives you accurate feedback, easily maintained, at a very good price. Interface is a bit confusing in some places but the learning curve is quick. Haven’t really explored the support groups, challenges, meal plans and all that but look forward to doing so. What is important to me is easy, accurate data. Hope this helps.

    It definitely helps me to be more mindful of what I am eating,. I try to log what I am thinking about eating before I eat it so I have time to ask myself “Is this worth the calories?” I still eat the things I like but in much more reasonable portions. The free version is helpful but Premium has some nice options that I feel are worth the cost. Good luck on your health & wellness journey!

    Very easy to use and efficient. My only rag is that you have to go premium if you want to track your water consumption.
