  • Serious legal issues that Apple is ignoring. Uninstalled

If you can sell people tokens (which can’t be stolen/pirated), but sell people actual resources that can be stolen, you’ve set up a system that encourages theft in the hopes that people will pay more cash to replenish what they’ve lost. Apple, why is this allowed? What’s wrong with you? Now let’s get into why this is the antithesis of a game. Games are supposed to be fun. They’re not supposed to drain your wallet at an alarming rate, or overcharge for virtual items that don’t offer any bang whatsoever for your buck, or give you a panic attack in the morning because someone attacked you while you slept and stole resources you paid a ridiculous amount of actual cash for, all because you didn’t have any more 8-hour peace shields to get a good night’s sleep. This game fails in all these ways. You could go out and buy a VR headset for what you’d pay in a month at a mid-20’s level in this game. HALF of a garbage character that’s not even playable is NOT worth $100. And how many currencies does one game need? Parsteel, tritanium, dilithium, 2, 3, and 4 star ore, crystal, or gas, and an absurd amount of ship parts and components that just over complicate the whole thing. Plus this game is the opposite of Star Trek. It rewards big for stealing and pillaging other people’s stuff, but extremely poorly for diplomacy. But are there dailies? Sure, if you choose to play this game instead of using those 12 hours a day for something other than trying to mine 3 star materials when there aren’t enough nodes, or killing over 100 enemies for various dailies in lackluster fight scenes that don’t involve any skill or fun, all for loot boxes that reward garbage compared to the insane amount of resources you need to upgrade anything at level 25. Oh, and did I mention mining? Somehow they think this is fun. It’s not. Getting blown up 5 minutes after sitting on a node because people are desperate and they didn’t add enough of them is not fun. Sitting around and waiting to get one rather than blow someone up (because this is STAR TREK where you’re not supposed to be a jerk) is not fun. And making the cost of upgrading a station module TWICE what your generators can create is not fun. And the balancing is so off it’s just ridiculous. Why does an Envoy have more than 20 times the protected cargo of a north star? I now wake up happier than I’ve been in months. No more 20 notifications saying, “ALERT: YOUR STATION HAS BEEN ATTACKED!” only to find the resources you’d been collecting for weeks are all gone. No more setting countless alarms and timers to make sure my mining ships are off a node in case some trigger-happy fool is gonna take you out. No more checking on your peace shield to make sure you don’t get robbed. No more frustration about how not-like-star-trek this whole thing is. Having to stop at every system between 2 points? That’s not how warp works. Making you pay dilithium for research and building non-warp-capable things? That’s not how dilithium works. And why is it that I can’t control a ship and, you know, have fun, but you have to initiate stupid obvious commands like “repair ship”? It’s there and it’s broken. Seriously? Don’t install this. As much as you’d like to think you’ll get somewhere without paying a couple thousand dollars a year, you won’t. This game is greed and stupidity at its finest, and an insult to Trek. Gene Roddenberry would be rolling in his grave if he knew this thievery was attached to his legacy. And honestly, I’ve never seen a company overestimate the value of something so absurdly. $200 for “Carol,” who, like everything else, is unplayable and dull? I could hire an actual person that’ll provide a lot more fun for a lot less than that.
  • Broken + Pay Walls = Delete APP

By run away from this one fast
The app crashes constantly. PvP battles are not mutual, so you will be destroyed by stronger players often and have to wait long periods of time to repair your ships. PvP is completely unbalanced. You will hit pay walls. RUN AWAY FOR YOUR WALLET’S SAKE!!!! The mining requirements are ridiculous considering you can only convert small amounts of materials every 9 hours. All of those materials are needed to upgrade both your station and your ships, so you must pay to advance or waste literally months mining and converting to slowly hit the next level. Really poor development of a game that had potential
  • A different approach to Star Trek

I’ve been a Trek fan since the 60s. This game challenges some of my perceptions of those involved and the war angle is challenging for some. Still addictive and it’s had its difficulties. Progress continues as this update shows. Hoping it works well.

  • Gameplay okay, player base trash, no server switching

I really wanted to like this game. I played it straight for months after release. It has a serious flaw, and that is, or can be the player base. This game forces you onto a server without the ability to change. You are unable to log on with friends. And while pvp is a part of most online games, you may get stuck with a server where you simply can not level because you are constantly being destroyed. You can’t protect even meager amounts of your stored resources without spending a ton of money and tying yourself to a timer so you can reset your shields. Who wants to be chained to a friggin GAME? The pvp is based on the biggest fish wins concept with some limits, but generally the bigger fish are too high a level for you to mount any adequate defense. That being said, It is possible to get a server that has a great player base. I know from friends and experience (I also have an android version). Some servers have player self policing and set up in game etiquette so everyone can get higher levels, then you can have fun epic fleet battles. But be prepared to have a crappy chaotic “every-man-for-himself” community with no hope of moving away from it. If you do play; Do not spend money on this game until you are sure what kind of player community you have. You will not really know until around level 19. That is a fairly easy level to get without spending. Lastly, with the forced pvp based on piracy, this game has very little feel as part of a Star Trek universe. It’s more like Firefly with minor content that has pictures of ST characters. To evaluate it yourself, try Chromebook, Bluestacks or an old droid phone and play both platforms. You’ll see what I mean. If server swap and better pvp rules are ever created, I’ll try again and change the rating accordingly. However for now, as far as iOS servers are concerned, I don’t recommend this game as fun.

  • Horrible support

The game is neat could be improved but I doubt they will. What ruins the game is their customer support. If the game glitches out and you lose everything that you were grinding their response is that’s too bad but please note we will not fix it. I sent them in screenshots that still no good. Messaged for 3 days with all of them saying too bad we don’t reimburse if the game glitches so just grind it again..... it took me three days your game took it away now I’m supposed to grind again fir 3 days????? And hope it doesn’t have another issue. But oh wait you know your game is buggy and you suggest players play through the buggy game? But you don’t intend to fix the game??? There is no continuity with support they don’t fix your problem but every day your talking to a new person (all on your original post). That new person only reads your last message so you get to start all over again. For 5 days I argued about losing everything I had saved (which is important for the game play if you want to keep up with everyone else do you can at least protect yourself) they told me they do not fix those problems and cannot help though they can see that the game glitched on me for 2 straight days.... but they won’t fix the issue. If you want a game that will piss you off then play this one! If you’d like to play a pointless game with 90% chances to experience glitches that will make you fall further behind everyone else then look no further this is the game!!!! If you like throwing your money away and them saying they’ll reimburse that and then say oh wait no we can’t reimburse just try a new purchase instead.... yes this game will flush your money right down the toilet for you!!!!!

I’ll add to the chorus of people who are let down by this game. For the first week I was enamored by the number of quests, variety of tasks, and the size of the map. I even spent about $20 on some upgrades. But once PVP becomes a factor, the game becomes a slog and falls victim to paying players. Low level characters with insanely powerful ships that destroy you for fun. The devs are well within their right to cater to their high-paying customers but eventually the server will just be filled with griefers and there won’t be any suckers to prey on. Right now I’m losing interest as my quest log piles up and I can’t mine materials thanks to griefing. So much potential here.
