Description

Hallow offers guided prayer and meditation sessions to help us grow in our faith lives and find peace and stillness in God. Explore contemplative prayer and meditation sessions across: * Christian Meditation: finding peace in silence and imaginative prayer leveraging Catholic mindfulness practices * Examen: reflecting on your day and discovering an awareness of God in the present moment * Lectio Divina: entering into a conversation with God through scripture * Spiritual Writing: journaling with God, listening to Him, and sharing with Him what’s on your mind and heart * Taizé and Chant Meditation: meditative chant and singing with God * Rosary: meditating with Mary through the mysteries of the Rosary Today’s world is stressful, busy, hectic, and full of distractions. Society puts an insane amount of pressure on us and there seems to be a constantly increasing expectation to work harder, study more, respond faster, and perform better. At the same point in time, we’re increasingly searching for meaning, fulfillment, purpose, and growth within our spiritual lives. We believe these two challenges can be addressed with the same solution. Namely, through deepening our relationship with God and growing in Christian mindfulness. By allowing Him into our day-to-day lives and stresses, we let Him share with us His peace, joy and fulfillment. WHAT YOU GET Hallow’s intuitive, convenient and personalized experience begins with a 9-day introduction that guides you step-by-step through three different methods of prayer. After this, it’s up to you to choose from our collection of over 200 sessions across three different sections: Dailies: Daily prayers across methods including Christian Meditation, Lectio Divina, the Rosary, Spiritual Writing, and the Examen. Praylists: Sessions across a variety of prayer methods, all centered on one particular theme e.g., joy, humility, making decisions, calm, letting go. Challenges: Prayers usually focused on re-discovering the beauty within traditional prayers for example: the Our Father, Stations of the Cross, and Advent. In addition to the above sections, Hallow offers a number of features to help users customize their prayer experience: * Journal for users to capture their thoughts after every prayer * Choice between male and female guides * Options for 3 different lengths for every prayer (typically 5, 10, or 15 minutes) * Ability to set prayer reminders * Option to include calming background music in any session * Ability to download sessions for offline listening * Add Mindful Minutes to Apple Health app All of our content is developed by experience Catholic theology and spirituality guides and reviewed by senior leaders within the Church (e.g., PhD’s, professors, Bishops, authors). • Wow you have to pay

Downloaded and deleted immediately I shouldn’t have to pay to be able to have a guide to pray. I was looking forward to it but nope praying should be free and having a guide should be free as well. Very disappointed

Often Catholic / Christian apps leave much to be desired but not this one. In a world of meditation apps, this one is what I was searching for, because I’ve wanted to practice meditation for brain health for quite some time and never could fully engage because what I was finding was all self-focused or New Age meditations. I really wanted my meditations to be guided prayer and God-focused time. This is exactly that!
  • Amazing App, but a bit costly!

I love this app and use it daily! It has helped me tremendously in my prayer life! The price of $9 a month or $60 yearly is too much for me personally but if you can afford it, it is well worth the value!

I had this app on my Android and it worked wonders and then I found a really good deal on an iPhone 7+ and thought okay cool I'll just redownload it. Nope as soon as I signed in the app crashed and I've restarted my phone and deleted the app and tried again. So now every time I tap on it to open it. It'll just crash and be open in the background even when I tap on it from the background it just exits.
  • Perfect for Contemplative Prayer

I downloaded this app after a recommendation from my Priest to try more meditation and contemplative prayer rather than focusing on the common rote prayers we use. I have been feeling a disconnect and wanted to find ways to converse with God. Moreover, I just also needed to slow down. Hallow is perfect! The UI is great, it has great series (currently going through the intro series right now) and I am excited to try out the Examen and Lectio Divinia prayers soon. Moreover, it still offer practices like the Rosary. It really helps me to vary up my prayer life so I do not fall into a rut. It is a bit expensive (about $8.99 a month), BUT it produces high quality content and looks like it has plans for expanding. I also like the option to switch between vocal styles. Well down Hallow! Peace be with you!

This app has supercharged my prayer life and guided me through different prayer practices. The audio format works so well compared to rattling off written prayers as I was doing with other apps. Now I feel like I have a “prayer partner.” I look forward to my calming and grounding time in prayer with Hallow.

Nice variety of different prayer styles in the Catholic tradition. Choice of male and female voice. Choice of time for prayers, which is nice if you’re in a rush or if you have more time to give.

And used it today. I did the intro and a Gospel reading. I liked the timing and questions asked as well as the voices and features. I will hopefully try the Calm one tomorrow. It would be cool to have options for people dealing with grief or who need healing too. This is a great tool for those with anxiety as well.

I am loving the Hallow app. As a working mom of two under two, sometimes it has seemed impossible to prioritize a prayer life. Hallow has given me a simple way to take time out of my day to be with God. I love that the sessions can be different lengths depending on how much time I have! And I love that it’s exposing me to a variety of prayer. I especially love Lectio Divina on Saturdays with the Sunday gospel since I’m often wrangling children during mass and it can be hard to concentrate. It’s the perfect way to prepare. Thank you to all involved in the creation of this app— it’s been life changing!!

Skeptical at first because I thought, "not even an app for prayer, can't I even pray without an app?" But I pray plenty throughout the day without an app. Hallow just helps with structuring my mornings and bedtime meditations better. Now my husband has joined me. This is a thoughtful, thankfully slow, peaceful aid to prayer. I'm so grateful to the folks who made it happen!
