  • Like the web version but frustrated with the app

    I use the online version of FreshBooks all the time, especially to track time and expenses on the go. The app, even with latest updates installed, locks up frequently. And it is still tracking time from a job I did quite a while ago even though I have discarded it many times - it’s up to 268 hours now and I can’t wait to submit that invoice and see the reaction from my client! This is frustrating because my husband and I own our business and pay a monthly fee for FreshBooks. I would think this would include an app that works consistently. I’ve gotten to the point where I just note the time at a job site on a post it note and enter it later when I get back to the office. Kinda kills the convenience factor of having an app.

  • Where are Projects???

    I’m a longtime freshbooks user and love it, but where are the list of projects in this app version of the great web tool? Being able to see your projects, and the ones you are close to going over your hours on, is critical, especially when tracking time using your phone. The mobile version of freshbooks should focus on expense tracking, time tracking, and project status as top priorities. Those are things mobile is tailored for. The rest are secondary.

    Going in I was looking for a way that was better than spreadsheets to manage invoicing and statements. FreshBooks has transformed the way I operate my business. I love the dashboards so I can see at any point whether I am on the right track or not. I can open the app and discuss outstanding invoices at a design meeting saving me time in the usual up & down email chain. The one tap statement generator is awesome! Invoicing is easy . Highly highly recommend.

  • Not Nearly As Good As The Desktop Version

    I only use the mobile app for entering expenses and uploading photos of receipts. Other more detailed functions are difficult to do with thumbs. However a bug in the expense module has persisted on and off for many months: after entering all data you often hit the save button only to see all of your tedious thumb work vanish instantly! The only remedy is to re-enter the expense info on your desktop or laptop machine and then use the mobile app to upload the receipt photo. So at this point the app is a time waster rather than a time saver. Another thing: why isn’t it possible to edit an existing expense to make it a recurring expense? Instead, you have to delete your previous entry and start over to create a recurring expense. Another time waster. How about adding a mileage field to the time tracking module? That way, the user could track mileage and see a total at the end of the year. The IRS requires record keeping to support mileage deductions. Adding a mileage field to time tracking would create the fastest, easiest possible way to comply with the IRS on mileage. I have probably requested this feature 20 times on support calls. It seems to be falling on deaf ears.
